We all hate waiting, but some things are just worth the wait. This post explains why we believe Overkill 3 is one of those things.
The original release date for Overkill 3 was set to November. Turns out that was too optimistic. While we could release in November it wouldn’t be the perfect version of Overkill 3 that we have in our minds. It wouldn’t be the Overkill 3 you deserve to play and enjoy. We’ve worked on Overkill 3 for almost 2 years now. A few months more is not that long compared to that, is it?
Our decision comes from a close cooperation with our Android betatesters and Canadian and Czech players and New Zealanders on iOS. The most compelling reason is the number of levels. As of now, skilled shooters can cut through all levels in a day or two. That’s a time span that can leave a gamer feeling a bit empty inside, which is not the emotion we want to inspire. But there are more improvements and features that will make it to the game thanks to this postponement. Let’s have a look at some of them.
GREATLY ENHANCED VISUAL EFFECTS
You know, those ‘little things’ that make for big fun. They include more realistic blood spatters and enemy hit animations. So when you shoot at your targets you can be pretty sure they feel every bullet that hits them, which makes the action all that more realistic and intense. We’re also working on bigger and better explosions that have more ‘substance’, so to speak. The camera work is being dramatically revamped to bring greater dynamics and life to the action. Simply said, you’ll feel like being in an actual battlefield.
MORE BOSS ENCOUNTERS
You’ve met some of the bosses already in our previous posts. The good news is there are a couple more you haven’t seen. Like that beefy tank below. Even better news - the encounters will truly feel like boss battles. Each boss is unique and you’ll have to find their weak spots and work your way to disabling them.
SOCIAL CHAT AND COOP MISSIONS
We know how much you love the chat room in Overkill 2. That’s why we want to have it ready for you in the third Overkill as well. Talking tactics, getting help and simply having great time with fellow players is great, but there’s more! Two-people cooperation missions. Find your perfect war buddy and fight together for the spotlight on team leaderboards and a chance to win great rewards!
GUN COLLECTIONS
“Where are the gun collections?” We’ve been asked by so many betatesters. And rightly so! The best guns ever made for mobile have be collectible and completed collections should be rewarded. We’ll make it happen.
NEW DEVICES BRING MORE JUICE TO THE PARTY
Great new devices have been introduced, the new iPads and iPhone 6 & 6+, the new Shield and Nexus tablets powered by the mighty Tegra K1 chipset. There’s a lot of potential in those devices and we want to tap their power to transform Overkill 3 into a truly epic mobile game.
GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT
So it all boils down to the question of would I rather play a watered down version of the Overkill experience or wait a little longer to have a blast? As gamers we would always go with the later. Share our vision and rest assured it will be worth it!
